Did you know Netflix published games? If you haven’t had a subscription with the streaming service in a few years, you may be surprised to learn that there is an entire gaming division. Seriously, there’s dozens of games you get access to if you have a paid Netflix account.
Oxenfree II: Lost Signals is one of the video games that got published under the Netflix umbrella. It is a side-scrolling adventure game with horror and mystery themes. You play as Riley, a woman who is sent to a small island with an important job to do: set up radio transmitters.
The only problem is that this place has a storied history of strange, inexplicable phenomena occurring with life-altering consequences. And hey, what’s going on with those rowdy teenagers?
For completionists, this game can be a remarkably confusing trophy hunt to go for. Online discourse surrounding the achievements is all over the place, with the various relationship trophies having tons of different anecdotal experiences across the map. Personally, I played this game back when it originally released in 2023 when there were no guides out at all. And three years later, the resources don’t seem much better.
I created this flowchart as something that I wished I had when I played the game the first time around. This guide will hopefully simplify much of the mystery surrounding this game’s trophy hunt. Tips & Tricks
The provided visual aid is intended to be all-encompassing of a successful platinum trophy run in Oxenfree II: Lost Signals. If you follow the flowchart to the letter, you will acquire every single trophy in the game. There are a few things that you should be aware of as you play:
- On your completionist route playthrough, check your radio every time you enter and exit an area. Exact timings of radio calls can be altered depending on how quickly you move through areas. It’s best to be very thorough in checking so you do not miss any important conversations with the various characters in the game.
- The only skill-based trophy in the game is “On Top of Things.” To earn it, you must stop Olivia from tuning the portal all four times in the Community Center. If you befriend Charlie and Violet (as you should in that playthrough), it becomes much easier. If you’re worried about executing under pressure, check out this video so you know what to expect.
- The final Adler letter does not become available to collect until you’ve found all the others. It is in Berenson Creek.
How to Use the Flowchart
To properly use the flowchart, start from the top and follow along with your intended route. Generally, it is recommended to begin with the left branch. This lets you get acquainted with the game without worrying about your radio or the collectibles just yet. The right branch is the full completionist route.
It is worth noting that the flowchart assumes you have the ability to create and use back-up saves. This is important because it saves you an entire playthrough when done properly.
To create back-up saves on the PlayStation 5, you must first have a PlayStation Plus subscription. You’ll need to turn off auto back-ups in your console settings. When prompted, you should manually upload your Oxenfree II: Lost Signals save at the indicated points in the guide.
On PlayStation 4, you can follow the same approach if you like, or you may also use a USB drive for a local back-up option. This is also an option if you’re playing the PlayStation 4 version of Oxenfree II: Lost Signals on PlayStation 5 systems.
That said, you don’t need to utilize back-ups to get the platinum trophy. It merely saves you an extra playthrough. If you do not want to or cannot use back-ups at all, you will need to do three playthroughs to account for the three different ending trophies for Riley, Olivia, and Jacob. Simply follow the flowchart, ignore the advice regarding back-ups, and do a final playthrough for whomever you missed at the end.
