Der Eisendrache Trophy Guide for Black Ops 3 (Awakening DLC)

der eisendrache trophy guide: banner

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 was released more than ten years ago and has been giving trophy hunters a run for their money ever since. The game has an astonishing 99 trophies, of which 52 are from separate DLC packs. To be more specific, every single one of these DLC achievements relates to the Zombies mode, in which you and up to three other players fight against endless hordes of the undead.

If only it were so simple. To earn these incredibly difficult trophies, you will need to become a veritable master of the mode. Not only that, but many resources online are full of misinformation and give lackluster, outdated advice. It is exactly that reason why I wanted to create my own up-to-date guide based on my own experience earning these trophies.

This comprehensive Der Eisendrache trophy guide includes detailed instructions for the Easter Egg, a custom annotated map, and information for all remaining miscellaneous achievements in the trophy set. Everything you need for 100% completion is included in this guide.

Quick Start

A quick start summary for the Der Eisendrache Easter Egg is below. All of the items below will be expanded on later in the guide.

  • Recommended for: any number of players
  • Best bows: Storm Bow (solo), Void Bow (support)
  • Best weapons: XM-53, KRM-262, upgraded bow
  • Best Mega Gobblegums: Idle Eyes, Perkaholic/Soda Fountain, Immolation Liquidation, Extra Credit, Near Death Experience (solo)
  • Biggest run-killers: wrong match settings, choosing the wrong loadout, Panzersoldats during the “Follow the Keeper” section, entering the boss fight underprepared

Beginner Tips

Brand new to Black Ops 3 Zombies? Or are you a player who has played casually for years and still camps in corners? If you feel seen, then you may want to take a look at some basic tips before we dive into the nitty gritty of Der Eisendrache itself. The more fundamentals you learn now, the easier your life will be later.

  1. Learn how to train zombies
    • In a nutshell, training is when you group zombies into a tight horde with smart pathing rather than picking them off as soon as they appear. Training zombies is much safer because you control how and when new zombies spawn, as there is a limit on how many can be in the map at a time.
    • You don’t have to be fancy with this. With practice, you will learn what gaps between zombies can be safely squeezed between, what rooms have optimal, open layouts for training zombies, and when it is safe to turn back and pick off a few.
    • The thing that often separates novice Zombies players and intermediate ones is whether they camp or not. You will do much better the more you keep moving. Remember, zombies get stronger every round; you do not. Therefore, movement and strategy is imperative to reaching higher rounds and succeeding at Easter Eggs.
  2. Learn the maps one at a time
    • The best thing you can do as a new player is to dedicate yourself to a single map at a time. Jumping between half a dozen different Zombies maps with zero knowledge is just going to be an incredibly frustrating experience.
    • It can be helpful to play casually with small goals at first, such as building one item in the map or finding where all the perk machines are. The more lived experience you get, the better you will understand the map. Videos can help, but they’re not as good as exploring on your own as far as long-term memory goes.
  3. Go prone in front of perk machines for bonus points
    • Laying down in front of a perk machine always awards you 100 points for free. It’s a cute little nod to finding leftover change in gum machines in real life. These points can make a big difference during early round set-up.
  4. When a teammate goes down, play for yourself
    • Too often, players rush in to save their friends as soon as they go down. It’s like the team collectively panics and everyone’s play suffers for it. As a result, one down turns into an entire snowball andoopsnow it’s time to reset the run. Bummer.
    • Instead of straight-lining it to Mr. “I’ve got a ray gun!” you should first play to survive. I’m not saying to forsake the save, but your first priority should be not to let the match go down the drain for it. Remember, the downed player has an entire 30 second bleed out timer before they disappear. Think strategically first: will a gobblegum help, should you circle the map first, can you grab Quick Revive?
    • If the save cannot be done safely, it is better to let your friend bleed out than to die trying to save them. They can always bounce back when they spawn back in.
  5. Always save 1-2 zombies at the end of a round
    • Delaying the start of the next wave gives you time to restock ammo, get perks, roll the mystery box, do Easter Egg steps, and so on.
    • It can sometimes be smart to save more than one zombie. When a zombie is the last one, it tends to start sprinting. This can be very annoying to deal with when you are trying to do other things in the map. Saving more than one can prevent this from happening.
  6. Beware of the windmill attack
    • Zombies in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 have the potential to attack three times in quick succession. If this happens in a bad moment, you can go from full health to dead in two seconds flat.
    • For that reason, you should be wary of melee-ing zombies, staying too near windows, and taking risky routes when training.
    • It can be helpful to know how to guarantee the slice melee over the thrust melee. To do so, make sure you have zero forward momentum, and instead pull backward on the analog stick slightly as you melee. This will ensure you always use the safer, faster, and more effective melee on zombies.

How to Save Mega Gobblegums

Before we get into anything else, allow me to educate you on the one thing that will make or break your Black Ops 3 trophy hunting experience. As you play Zombies, you earn a currency called Liquid Divinium. These vials can be exchanged for Mega Gobblegums in the menu.

Mega Gobblegums are incredibly powerfuland limiteditems that you can bring into your matches. Every time you accept a gobblegum from a machine, it is considered used. That means if you die with it in your possession, you will still lose that gobblegum whether or not you got to benefit from its effect.

Because what gobblegums you get from Dr. Monty’s Factory are random, the best gobblegums are rare and very precious. As such, it would be for the best if you could save as many as possible. Thankfully, there is a way to bypass the game’s built-in checks to do just that.

Here is what you need to do as a PlayStation player:

  1. Play a match with your desired gobblegums.
  2. Reach a point where you would like to quit, or suspect you will die soon.
  3. If you are in solo:
    • Pause the game.
    • Quit the application via the PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 menu.
  4. If you are in co-op:
    • Make sure you or your partner will be safe for a few seconds, either with distance or a gobblegum. You cannot pause the game while in co-op.
    • Quit the application via the PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 menu.
      • The fastest way to do this on PlayStation 5 is to hit the home button, navigate down to the Switcher, then click the game title and go down twice to close game. (Note: the PlayStation 5 remembers the last card you used. It would be best to make sure the last card you used was the Switcher to make this as fast as possible.)
      • The fastest way to do this on PlayStation 4 is to hit the home button, press the options button on the game, and then close the game.
  5. Any consumed gobblegums will be preserved for your next session. In addition, you will keep any mission progress and Liquid Divinium earned during the match.

Trophy Overview

Black Ops 3: Awakening’s trophies boil down to two things: the so-called Easter Egg and a variety of miscellaneous tasks and challenges. You can do them in whichever order you’d like, however, I would recommend doing the Easter Egg first.

  • Total trophies: 10
  • Automatically earned during the Easter Egg: 2
  • Best overall route:
    • Learn the map
    • Complete the Easter Egg
    • Clean up remaining miscellaneous trophies

The hardest part of this trophy set by far centers around the Easter Egg. Once you have it behind you, it’s all smooth sailing from there. That said, several miscellaneous trophies will still need dedicated cleanup.

Annotated Der Eisendrache Map

It can be very annoying to learn a new map in Zombies. To save you some trouble, we created two visualizations of Der Eisendrache showing the overall layout, the names of locations we will be using throughout this guide, and the location of every fixed perk machine on the map.

We purposefully did not add things like mystery box locations or Wunderfizz machines so as not to bog down the core map design. Don’t worry, the locations of everything you need to know will be described and shown expressly throughout our Der Eisendrache trophy guide.

In general, the best loadout for Der Eisendrache has every piece of your kit doing a different job. Because this map has a boss fight, Panzersoldats, Hellhounds, and (of course) zombies, we need to consider every piece of the puzzle for the best chance at success.

Although the Easter Egg is doable solo, it can be made much easier with the addition of another player. For starters, the second person can keep a zombie busy while you do various steps of the Easter Egg.

Furthermore, having someone else around when you make a mistake can be a life-saver. And, in the case of Der Eisendrache, having another person with a different bow can seriously make things way easier.

Here is what I would recommend for all players to equip, whether alone or with friends:

Player 1

Summary

Player 1’s loadout is the all-rounder. It is the safest option for solo players, as it provides significant protection against zombies, Panzersoldats, and Hellhounds, as well as deals sizable boss damage.

Weapons
  1. Storm Bow
    • The Storm Bow is an excellent weapon to have during all steps of the Easter Egg. Its charged shot creates tornados that suck in enemies and prevents them from attacking.
    • This bow can keep enemies off your back with ease and can even temporarily stun Panzersoldats. If you are a solo player, this is the ideal bow to craft.
  2. XM-53

    Weapons XM 53 scaled
    • The XM-53 may come as a surprise for some, however, when you see it in action you will understand why it’s here. The Pack-a-Punched rocket launcher deals significant damage against the boss’ weak point once it is exposed, such that you can easily finish a damage phase in seconds.
    • Located only through the mystery box.
  3. KRM-262

    Weapons KRM 262 scaled
    • The KRM-262 shotgun isn’t great for hordes, but it does shine in one particular area. It can melt through Panzersoldats in seconds if you get in close and shoot their exposed weak point in the chest. It is best to do this in conjunction with the Storm Bow’s charged shot to ensure you stay safe.
    • Located on the wall outside of Spawn going toward the Gate House, as well as in the Trophy Room.
Perks
  1. Juggernog
    • More health is always good. Don’t underestimate the zombies’ ability to windmill you into oblivion.
    • Located on the way to Spawn from the Undercroft.
  2. Mule Kick
    • Having the above bow, shotgun, and rocket launcher makes a huge difference during the boss fight part of the Easter Egg. I would not recommend skipping out on any of these weapons. Therefore, getting three weapon slots instead of two is very important (especially if you’re playing solo).
    • Located in the Tunnels on the way to Spawn from the Trophy Room.
  3. Double-Tap
    • Double-Tap gives you increased damage per second thanks to the increase in fire rate. This can make a huge difference during the boss fight and wisp steps.
    • Located in the Gate House on the way to the Castle Courtyard from Spawn.
  4. Quick Revive or Stamin-Up
    • Stamin-Up is an excellent perk for getting around maps quickly. It is also super handy to have in the boss fight, as you can navigate the arena more safely with it equipped.
    • Quick Revive might not be a bad option if you are a solo player and value the ability to pick yourself up more than a boost to movement speed.
    • Quick Revive: Located upstairs in Spawn.
    • Stamin-Up: Located in the Armory.
Gobblegums

There are a number of Mega Gobblegums that can help with the Easter Egg for Der Eisendrache. You can have up to five equipped at a time. I would recommend having ones for stealth, perks, the mystery box, and points building if possible. These aren’t required to complete the Easter Egg, but will give you the best possible experience:

  1. Idle Eyes
    • This Mega Gobblegum has 3x activations that last 30 seconds each, and makes all types of zombies ignore all players.
    • This is HUGE during the boss fight. I would recommend using this gobblegum during the Panzersoldat phases, then running around and taking them all out while they are completely unaware of your presence. You will melt through the relevant phases of the boss with this gobblegum and the KRM-262 shotgun combo.
  2. Perkaholic or Soda Fountain
    • Perkaholic is a Mega Gobblegum that grants you every single perk in the game for free. It is very rare and arguably the best one in the entire game. You cannot deny that having nine perks without having to spend the points to get them is very powerful.
    • An alternative to Perkaholic is Soda Fountain. This Mega Gobblegum lets you get a free perk for every perk you purchase, and it also exceeds the normal four perk cap. In other words, if you buy five perks, you will get all nine. This gobblegum is a great use of the Wunderfizz, which gives you a random perk for 1,500 points, the cheapest price of any possible perk on the map.
  3. Immolation Liquidation
    • This Mega Gobblegum has 3x activations and lets you spawn a fire sale power-up on demand. This can be very useful to ensure you get the XM-53 on this map, as it is not a wall buy.
    • It can also be useful for trying to get cymbal monkeys. These make for great distractions if you are in a pinch during the boss fight, although they are by no means required.
  4. Extra Credit
    • Extra Credit is a Mega Gobblegum with 3x activations that spawns 1,250 points (3,750 total). It goes without saying that more points is always helpful.
    • I’d recommend not activating these immediately on pick-up, as they actually stack with the double points power-up. Try to use your tram fuses or wait for a double points power-up to spawn naturally if you can.
  5. (Solo) Near Death Experience
    • Near Death Experience is an incredibly overpowered Mega Gobblegum if you know how to use it. Its description says that players can be revived by being near each other, and anyone who is revived keeps all their perks.
    • This is a good effect that lasts for three whole rounds, but it is downright devious in solo play.
      • When playing solo, the perk Quick Revive allows you to pick yourself up automatically when you go down. If you combine that with the Near Death Experience gobblegum, you become invincible for three rounds as you can pick yourself up an infinite number of times.
      • That means the boss fight for Der Eisendrache can be cheesed through easily if you happen to use this method.

(Optional) Player 2

Summary

Player 2’s loadout is the most supportive. It provides superior area control, which is essential to the team’s survivability during the boss fight. Player 2 can also flex to take over Player 1’s damage dealing role as the need arises.

Weapons
  1. Void Bow
    • The Void Bow quite frankly makes the boss fight a thousand times easier. This bow can clear hordes and, more importantly, Hellhounds with ease. The player with this bow need only spam charged shots around the arena and you will have endless swathes of protection. This goes double when you consider the other player’s Storm Bow.
    • Do not go for the Fire Bow or the Wolf Bow over the Void Bow. Although the Wolf Bow is easier to craft and the Fire Bow is more stylish, the Void Bow is by far the best defensive option, which will be greatly appreciated for this fight.
    • I personally failed the boss fight five times trying to make the Wolf Bow work, and yet succeeded on my first try with the Void Bow in a duo set-up.
  2. KRM-262
    • Because Panzersoldats are so common on this map, it is best for both players to carry this shotgun. It can also have really nice synergy with Player 1, as the person with the Storm Bow can suspend Panzersoldats in the air while the other can easily dispatch them.
  3. XM-53 / Anything
    • At least one player should definitely have the rocket launcher for the damage phase of the boss fight. However, having both players with it likely isn’t necessary.
    • In my playthrough, one person could finish the damage phase in less than two seconds on their own with this weapon. So, just make sure someone has it. There’s no need for both players to pick up Mule Kick unless you want to be sure.
Perks and Gobblegums

Player 2 should use the same perks and gobblegums as Player 1 if possible. Idle Eyes is the most essential of all the gobblegums, as it makes the Panzersoldat phases of the boss so much more doable. Having 6x activations will give you plenty of breathing room.

In my duo playthrough, we used Idle Eyes four times during the boss fight, strictly when Panzersoldats spawned. In Plain Sight may work in a pinch as long as your gameplay is on point.

(Optional) Players 3-4

Summary

Players 3 and 4 are fill-ins. They only need to wield the remaining bows. There is little need to overstack on damage dealing weapons.

Weapons

Any additional players in the lobby will need to get whichever bows have not been claimed yet. I would recommend going with the Wolf Bow over the Fire Bow if choosing between the two, simply for the fact that the Wolf Bow is much easier to craft.

If you intend to do the Easter Egg with four players, make sure your strongest player with the best aim (and patience) goes for the Fire Bow. The steps for crafting it are easily the most challenging.

As for your remaining weapon slots, the KRM-262 will always be useful on this map, and if you roll the XM-53 in the mystery box you should probably go ahead and pick it up. You probably don’t need more than two people max holding one, though.

Perks and Gobblegums

The same recommendations go for gobblegums and perks as the other players.

Common Loadout Mistakes

There are a few common threads of advice I have seen floating around in the annals of history for Der Eisendrache. Some of these have been perpetuated simply because they could work, not because they are the best.

Allow me to save you some heartache by telling you what to avoid right off the bat.

Pop Shocks

This Mega Gobblegum has 5x activations and unleashes a shockwave when you deal melee damage.

I have seen it recommended as a nice option to use against Panzersoldats, especially during the boss fight, as they (theoretically) defeat them in one hit. However, let me explain to you why this probably isn’t the best way to go.

  1. Getting close enough to melee Panzersoldats means you are also within range of their slam attack. The likes of which will very likely kill you.
  2. Getting close to Panzersoldats during the boss fight will likely leave you very close to zombies or Hellhounds. That means your melee attack may get auto-aimed at something else, and fail to hit the Panzersoldat. I activated Pop Shocks a couple of times when attempting the boss fight and never killed a single Panzersoldat this way, so I assume this is what happened to me.
  3. Getting Pop Shocks early leaves you vulnerable during the Follow the Keeper step of the Easter Egg. I prefer to have In Plain Sight, as Panzersoldats can easily sneak up on you in those tiny corridors.
Danger Closest

This Classic Gobblegum lasts for three full rounds and protects you from all sources of explosive damage, whether from enemies or self-inflicted.

This can be an appealing buff when you consider the fact that Panzersoldats spawn frequently on this map and have incredibly disorienting explosive attacks that can be mitigated with this gobblegum.

That being said, it just isn’t good enough to justify a slot on the loadout. Here’s why:

  1. Whenever you encounter Panzersoldats, you are almost always better served with a stealth gobblegum like In Plain Sight over Danger Closest. It prevents all forms of damage (not just explosive) in the sense that the Panzersoldat isn’t even aggro’d on you anymore. In Plain Sight also has more practical uses when you need to do Easter Egg steps, actually provides safety in an emergency situation, and is also a gobblegum you can use infinitely.
  2. The disorienting effect of explosions isn’t actually hurting you. It is harder to see what’s happening on your screen when it happens, but if you keep moving it is incredibly unlikely to result in a run-ender.
  3. There just isn’t enough space to put it in your kit unless you aren’t able to use any Mega Gobblegums at all. Any of the above options in the recommended loadout section would outrank Danger Closest in utility any day of the week here.

Easter Egg Walkthrough

Before we load in, make sure your game is set up properly for the Easter Egg.

You must play on ranked mode to make sure you don’t get asked to have more bows than players. If you’re not sure how to change that setting, here is where to do it. It is vital that you make sure your settings are correct, because otherwise you won’t find out until step 11 and will have wasted a lot of time.

It is also worth mentioning ahead of time that you need to pick up a part from the first Panzersoldat you defeat. It can be grabbed later, but it’s easiest if you just keep it in mind now.

1. Feed the Dragons

The first step to the Easter Egg involves finding three stone dragons across the map and killing zombies next to them, therefore feeding them the souls of the undead. The three locations of the dragons are shown below. They are located in the Castle Courtyard, the Research Lab, and the Undercroft.

der eisendrache trophy guide: dragon 1
der eisendrache trophy guide: dragon 2
der eisendrache trophy guide: dragon 3

(Optional) Build the Shield

The shield is an item that can be crafted by finding three parts spread out across the map. Each part has three potential locations where it can appear in a small area.

The shield helps significantly with your ability to survive as it tanks hits from zombies behind you. It can also be used for a powerful melee attack in a pinch. For the Easter Egg, it is strongly recommended that you grab this since it is easy enough to do and yields great benefits. If you like a challenge, you can (not so safely) skip this.

One piece is located in the Castle Courtyard. It can spawn:

  • Directly to the right after entering from Spawn
  • On some boxes to the left near the staircase
  • Upstairs on the way to the Death Ray

The next piece is in the Upper Courtyard area. It can spawn:

  • Upstairs in the Clock Tower beside the man at the desk
  • Coming down the stairs from the Clock Tower to the right near some barrels
  • Beside the stairs to the right of the entrance to the Research Lab

The final piece is always located in the Undercroft. You can only get it with anti-gravity turned on. If you haven’t already, stand on each of the four squares around the pyramid until they light up to activate anti-gravity.

The part spawns:

  • Along the walls above the Pack-a-Punch location
  • Above the entrance to the Teleporter Room
  • On the golden arches around the ceiling near the pyramid

While you can build the shield anywhere a bench is available, I would recommend the build table in the Undercroft. It is a location you will frequent regularly while completing the Easter Egg.

2. Pick Up the Wrath of the Ancients Bow

Once all three dragons have crumbled away, a very special wonder weapon will become available to pick up. You should return to the Knight’s Tomb to pick it up. As a reminder, this is the small switchback room on the way to the Undercroft from the Research Lab.

3. Upgrade the Bow

Now that you have the bow, you need to upgrade it. For the Easter Egg, you need one bow per player in your session. Although you can proceed to the next step with just one upgraded bow, it will be a lot easier if more than one person finishes upgrading at the same time.

In Der Eisendrache, there are four different bows you can upgrade. They each have their own strengths and weaknesses. The order that I would recommend approaching them is the Storm Bow, Void Bow, Wolf Bow, and lastly the Fire Bow.

If you only care about the fastest solo clear, do the Storm Bow and skip to the next step once it’s upgraded. You only need to upgrade as many bows as there are players in your lobby, so feel free to skip around to the relevant bows for your group.

Storm Bow
  1. Shoot the golden rooster weather vane above the Death Ray. A broken arrow will drop down. Interact with it to start the quest.

    Storm Bow Weather Vane scaled
  2. Light three bonfires out of bounds around the map using your bow.

The sniping points are located in the room above Double-Tap, near the Wunderfizz machine outside of the Clock Tower, and inside of the Wundersphere at the Rocket Test Site.

    Storm Bow Bonfire 1 scaled

    Storm Bow Bonfire 2 scaled

    Storm Bow Bonfire 3 scaled
  3. Run around the walls in the Undercroft with anti-gravity active to activate all of the wind gust panels. A sound will play whenever you succeed or fail.

You can do this as many times as you need to in the same round, but you must activate all of the panels without touching the floor.

Storm Bow Gust Plate 2 scaled
  4. Every location you lit a bonfire at now has a sparking urn near it. You must defeat a few zombies at all three of these locations to charge them.

You’ll know you’ve defeated enough zombies when their souls stop appearing on death.

The room above Double-Tap has its urn wedged in the corner, the Clock Tower has its urn inside under the stairs, and the Rocket Test Site has the last urn to the left of the teleporter.

    Storm Bow Urn 1 scaled

    Storm Bow Urn 2 scaled

    Storm Bow Urn 3 scaled

You must aim your bow at the charged urn to electrocute your arrow, then shoot all three of the bonfires. If you fail, simply return to the urn and gather more electricity to try again.

This step may take some practice. The shield helps a ton if you are playing solo.

    Storm Bow Electrified Bonfire scaled
  5. Shoot the weather vane near the Death Ray once again to get the reforged arrow. Interact with it to pick it up.

Storm Bow Electrified Weather Vane scaled
  6. Bring the arrow to the Undercroft and place it in the pedestal with the tornado sigil. You will receive a max ammo power-up for your trouble.

Now you need to get some kills in the depression around the pyramid to charge it up.

Storm Bow Place at Altar scaled
  7. When it is ready, drop your bow off at the pedestal and it will be upgraded. You can now wield the incredibly powerful Storm Bow!

    Storm Bow At Altar scaled
Void Bow
  1. Go to the area in the Gate House beside Double-Tap and shoot the symbol in the ceiling to start the quest.

    Void Bow Accept Quest scaled
  2. Navigate to the Trophy Room below the Clock Tower and melee kill a zombie near the purple square in the center.

The zombie must be very close to the square. You do not need to stand on it yourself. The shield does not count as a melee kill for this purpose. The Wrath of the Ancients bow and bowie knife, however, do.

When you succeed, the floor will explode, revealing an urn. Interact with it.

Void Bow Melee Square 2 scaled

Void Bow Melee Square 3 scaled
  3. Find and interact with six skulls hidden around the map.

Since you are likely still in the Trophy Room, the best route from here is to take the tunnel down toward Mule Kick. In the best order, these skulls are located:

    Void Bow Skull 1 scaled

    Void Bow Skull 2 scaled

    Void Bow Skull 3 scaled

    Void Bow Skull 4 scaled

    Void Bow Skull 5 scaled

    Void Bow Skull 6 scaled
    • In the broken wall near Mule Kick
    • Beside the brick wall at the Gate House near Double-Tap
    • In the toy chest in Samantha’s Room
    • Up the stairs to the right of the Research Lab entrance on the windowsill
    • Inside the sink in the Teleporter Room
    • In the back of the left-most truck at the Rocket Test Site
  4. Return to the Trophy Room and it will look much differently. You now need to create six crawler zombies (one for each skull you found) that will be consumed by the spirits in this room.

Grenades, bows, and other weapons like the ray gun or a rocket launcher are all ways you can make crawler zombies. Notably, other players can create crawler zombies on your behalf for this step.

It is imperative that you do not kill the crawler zombies yourself. Let the skulls eat them.

    Void Bow Crawler Step scaled
  5. When this is completed, you will hear a voice line. You need to remember or write down what is said. It can help to turn on subtitles in your game settings.

    Void Bow Code Step scaled
  6. Find the Knight Room near the Armory. Before you do anything, be ready to remember or write down a series of three things again. This time, they will be shown as symbols.

When you’re ready, interact with the knights in the correct order that the spirit told you earlier, based on the sigils at the base of each knight statue. Each knight will in turn show a purple symbol that you need to keep track of.

    Void Bow Code 1 scaled

    Void Bow Code 2 scaled

    Void Bow Code 3 scaled
  7. Defeat enemies with your bow. Each zombie has a small chance to spawn one of the six possible symbols. You must run to collect them when they drop.

Make sure you collect these symbols even if they are not the exact ones you need, as doing so makes it more likely that the ones you do need will appear next time. These symbols disappear very quickly, so make sure you run over to pick any that spawn as soon as possible.

You can check which symbols you have collected in the Trophy Room. Ones that have been collected will be filled in, and ones you have not will be empty.

    Void Bow Dropped Symbol scaled
  8. When you have collected all three symbols for your code, you must return to the Trophy Room and shoot them (with your bow) on the floor in the exact order that you saw them appear from the knights.

When you succeed, the spirit will say that is his name.

Void Bow That is My Name scaled
  9. Grab the reforged arrow from the hole in the floor once it appears.

    Void Bow Accept Arrow scaled
  10. Make your way to the Undercroft and drop your arrow off at the pedestal with the skulls. You will get a max ammo power-up for all your hard work.

Now you need to defeat zombies in the depression around the pyramid to charge it up.

Void Bow Place at Altar scaled
  11. When it is ready, drop your bow off at the pedestal and it will be upgraded. You can now wield the incredibly defensive Void Bow!

    Void Bow Equipped scaled
Wolf Bow
  1. There are four special paintings hidden around the map that you must interact with in a specific order. Their locations are fixed, but which painting appears in which spot is randomized. That’s why you need to learn both the painting locations and the correct order.

The paintings are located in the hall past Samantha’s Room on the way to the Armory, inside the Clock Tower on the left side, in the Trophy Room, and upstairs on the right side of the Research Lab.

To figure out the order, you must understand the story behind the paintings. You meet the knight and his wolf companions, watch as they ride to battle, witness the tragedy of war, and lastly see the ramifications as the man and his most loyal companions lay deceased together.

You must interact with the paintings in the correct order according to that story. So, based on the order of my screenshots above, that would be 2 -> 3 -> 1 -> 4 in my specific game. That means I needed to go to the Clock Tower, Trophy Room, past Samantha’s Room, and the Research Lab in that order.

If you mess up, simply restart from the first painting.
  2. Go down to the Undercroft from the Research Lab and a wall will explode to your left. Pick up the broken arrow to start the quest.

  3. Teleport to the Rocket Test Site. You must shoot the base of a flag high up on the mountain behind you as you exit the Rocket Test Site tunnel.

A wolf skull will drop down and you must pick it up when it lands.

  4. Return to the Undercroft. Beside the pedestal with the wolf sigil will be a skeleton of a wolf. You must place the skull on it in order to spawn the wolf spirit.

  5. The wolf spirit will now lead you somewhere on the map. When it stops and digs, you will need to defeat enemies near it.

Eventually, the wolf will return to the spot and dig further. You must interact with the spot when it finishes digging, at which point it will continue moving. You need to go through this loop three times.

The locations you’ll visit are the Upper Courtyard, near the Gate House with Double-Tap, and in the Undercroft. If the wolf disappears or you lose track of it, return to the Undercroft and you can resummon it.

  6. After the final dig site is completed, the wolf will run to a wall in the Undercroft and sit. When anti-gravity is active, you must wall run above that spot and shoot the wolf sigil with your bow. Successfully doing so will create a ledge you can stand on.

You may need to go back and forth along the wall a few times to provide enough time for the ledge to be created. If you fall, you’ll need to shoot the wolf sigil all over again.

Once you are standing on the ledge, interact with the hole. A skeleton will offer you the reforged arrow. Grab it.

  2. Make your way to the Rocket Test Site and wait safely on the teleporter side until a test launch happens. When it ends, you need to rush out through the doors, turn immediately to the right, and shoot the very top of the small volcano with your bow.

This has a strict time limit. You need to move quickly and be very accurate with your shot to get it. If you fail, simply wait for another test launch and try again.

You will know that you have succeeded because there will be a very large pillar of fire that shoots out from the volcano. You cannot miss it.

  3. Three circles will have spawned around the map. You must take the various Wunderspheres and shoot the circles with your bow while in mid-air.

Suffice it to say, this is incredibly difficult and may take many tries to get right. Be prepared to spend a lot of points.

The Wunderspheres you will take (in roughly increasing difficulty) are in the Gate House above Double-Tap (you shoot the circle outside of the Clock Tower), outside the Research Lab (you shoot the circle in front of the Death Ray), and at the Rocket Test Site (you shoot the circle outside the Gate House with Double-Tap).

4. Shoot the Wisps

Now that you have a swanky bow of your choosing, we can actually get started on the core of the Easter Egg. However, I must first give you a warning. For this step, you need to be very careful with your perks and weapons. Failing at any point means you will need to advance to the next level to try again. Additionally, a round advancing while in the middle of the step will immediately trigger failure; you must do this (and the following step) all in one level.

Once you trigger this phase, you will have a set timer to find a wisp somewhere around the map. These appear like small electrical effects in the environment. You need to shoot these sparking places with your upgraded bow four times in a row to succeed. A new wisp spawns in after a short delay, punctuated by the Margwa sound effect playing. When you succeed, it will be a longer, flatter sound. An active wisp location looks like this:

der eisendrache trophy guide: active wisp

So, what’s the trouble? Well, if you happen to hit a potential wisp spawn location with a variety of effects when it hasn’t spawned there, you will fail the step for that round just like that. That includes things like Widow’s Wine, Electric Cherry, errant bow shots, grenades, etc. It is highly recommended that you toss your grenades over the ledge or in a safe location if you have Widow’s Wine before proceeding.

You will also immediately fail if you shoot an actual, current wisp location with an unupgraded bow. Since these wisps spawn all over the map, that’s why it is nice but not necessary for multiple players to have their bow upgraded before starting this step.

To start this step, you must drop your upgraded bow off at its respective altar at the Undercroft temporarily. Return to the Knight’s Tomb and grab the Wrath of the Ancients again in its place. Don’t worry, this is only going to take a second.

Go to the Teleporter Room and shoot the orbs jutting out from the top of the teleporter. They will turn golden. When all of the orbs have changed color, quickly go and reclaim your upgraded bow of choice. It is imperative that you pick up your upgraded bow again. Be ready, because you are about to be on a time limit. Remember, you must find four of these wisps scattered across the map.

der eisendrache trophy guide: teleporter orbs

As for the actual locations: there are eight potential wisp spawns, and they can easily be divided between two players. One player handles the Spawn side, while the other handles the Research Lab side. Otherwise, whatever way works for your team composition is good so long as someone is checking each spot.

The wisp spawns in the order I would recommend checking are below. If you are solo, you can easily circle back around to Spawn by going down to the Undercroft from the Research Lab. This lets you check every wisp location for each spawn by doing a complete circuit of the map four times.

  • Upstairs in Spawn, across from Quick Revive
  • On the way to Double-Tap from Spawn, on the back tire of the car on the left side
  • In the room above Double-Tap, on the boxes to your left
  • On the globe near Samantha’s Room
  • On the phone in the Armory
  • On the clock in the room connected to the Clock Tower’s first floor
  • Among the computers on the right side of the Research Lab
  • On the clock above the Research Lab dragon

Once you’ve shot the correct location four times, a special sound effect will play. Now you can move on to the next step.

5. Go Back in Time

It is vital that you do this in the same round as you did the wisp step. If you do not, you will need to redo the wisp step in the new round and come back to this step.

Now that the wisp step has been successfully completed, you need to return to the Teleporter Room in the Undercroft. Pay the 500 points to teleport. Instead of going to the Rocket Test Site like normal, you will instead be sent back in time.

There are two things you need to do while you are here. You have a time limit here, but it isn’t strict.

First of all, you must collect two items: a large blue canister to the left of the teleporter, and a pair of dark fuses to the right of the teleporter. The fuses are hard to see, but they are located on a wooden crate directly to the right of the appliance. (In my photo, I already picked them up, so they are no longer visible. My apologies!)

Secondly, you need to go back to the man in the center of the room. He will enter a three digit pass code into the safe. You must either remember it or write it down, as you will need it shortly. I preferred to take photos.

der eisendrache trophy guide: code

After a few moments, you will be kicked out of the room and returned to your proper time at the Rocket Test Site. Every time you travel through time in Der Eisendrache, you will be greeted by a Panzersoldat upon your return.

Either defeat him now, or quickly travel to the core part of the map and take him down where you are more comfortable. If this is your first Panzersoldat, make sure to grab the Ragnarok DG-4 part that he drops when he dies.

der eisendrache trophy guide: panzersoldat spawn

6. Enter the Pass Code

Hopefully you wrote down that code from when you went back in time, because you’re going to need it now. Go to the computer station outside of the Clock Tower and interact with it. Each of the four monitors will show a different symbol.

Interact with the symbols that represent your pass code in the correct order. When done successfully, a small chime will play.

It is very important to note that in co-op, Hellhounds spawn continuously during this step and do not give points upon defeat. It is recommended that the player with the Storm Bow be the one to interact with the computers while the other(s) distract the final zombie, as the Storm Bow player can most easily defend themselves from Hellhounds while focusing on the step. Otherwise, gobblegums can help in a pinch.

After entering the code, you must go to the Teleporter Room and grab the items from the now opened safe. We will be using them right away.

der eisendrache trophy guide: open safe

7. Play Simon Says

Make your way back up to the Death Ray. Before anything else, make sure that you have run the trap at least once. If you’re planning to do it now, go ahead and grab the relevant Ragnarok DG-4 part in the sky.

Next, you need to insert the fuses you collected earlier into the pillars on either side of the landing.

Change the dial on the Death Ray itself to reflect “Destroy.”

der eisendrache trophy guide: death ray

Once you do this, if you are playing on co-op, Hellhounds will begin spawning indefinitely. Once again, it is best for the Storm Bow player to be the one handling the step while everyone else keeps the final zombie away. If you are in solo, this is a lot easier since you only need to worry about a solitary zombie or two. Just do small circles in front of the computers to avoid damage.

There are two computers that you must play a Simon Says mini game on. The first you’ve already interacted with; it is the computer station outside of the Clock Tower. The other is on the metal platform at the Rocket Test Site.

When you interact with the computer, it will show a different symbol on each of the four screens. You must either remember their order or take a picture. Then, the system will ask for a specific symbol. You need to interact with the screen that matches the one requested. Do this enough times and you will hear a successful chime. You need to do this for both computer stations.

You know that you have successfully completed the Simon Says mini game step based on the pillars in the Death Ray area. If they are both glowing white, you have succeeded. If one is not, that means you’ve failed one.

If you’re at a complete loss on why this step isn’t working, make sure the Death Ray has been activated at least once and is set to “Destroy.”

der eisendrache trophy guide: pillar lights

At this point, you should see a green button lit up on the back of the Death Ray. Press it! A short event will play out.

8. Shoot the Wisps (Again)

First of all, make sure you are on a new round than you were when you did the wisp step previously. Additionally, it is important to note that the timer begins immediately when a new round starts, so you must start seeking the wisp locations as soon as the round begins. In other words, you won’t have time to safely dispatch most of the zombies before looking for the wisps or else you risk failing to the timer.

That said, the timer is not particularly strict. It is better to take a longer route around the map to stay safe than it is to do a risky turn back down the same lane. Don’t risk needing to restart the Easter Egg because you were worried you’d run out of time here.

Otherwise, you should employ the same strategy as before. You need to find four wisps wherever they happened to spawn across the map. You must use an upgraded bow. Again, beware of accidental bow shots too close to possible spawns, Widow’s Wine explosions, etc. If you need a reminder on the wisp locations, you can return to our previous directions here.

When you succeed, you will hear that same sound effect as before. Make sure you do not end the round before the next step.

9. Go Back in Time (Again)

As before, you must return to the Teleporter Room and pay the 500 points to activate it. This visit is very simple, and requires two things.

The first thing you should do is go to the right. There is a black book sitting on some hay in a box. You must interact with it to open the black case in the back of the room. Go there and pick up the stone tablet.

After some time, you will be warped back to the Rocket Test Site. Another Panzersoldat will spawn in. Once again, either deal with him now or do so when you jump back to the rest of the map.

Before you go too far, head up toward Double-Tap. At the base of the lamp post, you will notice an indention in the bricks. This is where you should place the stone tablet you just picked up.

der eisendrache trophy guide: where to place stone tablet

10. Build the Ragnarok DG-4

The Ragnarok DG-4 is a required build item for the Der Eisendrache Easter Egg. It is very powerful, allowing you to do slam attacks and create a trap at your feet. Importantly, these traps can suspend Panzersoldats in the air, making them easy pickings for savvy players. They can also create safe zones to give yourself some breathing room or revive teammates. And, of course, they are required for a future step.

The Ragnarok DG-4 has three parts that are relatively simple to obtain.

  1. One piece is collected from defeating a Panzersoldat. You must collect the part that drops from their body upon defeat. The soonest you can encounter one depends on how quickly you upgrade your bow and go back in time.
    • A Panzersoldat spawns every time you return from going back in time.
    • A Panzersoldat is guaranteed to spawn on round 12 unless you’ve encountered one too recently through the Easter Egg steps.
    • If you didn’t pick it up when it spawned, it will spawn when you next defeat a Panzersoldat.
  2. The second piece can be collected after turning on the Death Ray. If you look up at the sky after the trap finishes, you will see the part floating in midair. If it is above the Death Ray, you must take the Wundersphere above Double-Tap to get it. If it is instead in the air above the pillar, you must take the Wundersphere in the Upper Courtyard to get it.

    Ragnarok 2 scaled
    • You have a time limit to get the part. It’s not incredibly strict, but don’t take too long or you’ll need to activate the trap again for another chance.
  3. The final piece requires a bit more effort.

You need to wait in the Rocket Test Site until the announcement happens that the test is starting. A lever underneath the rocket will go from having a red light to a green light. Interact with it.

    Ragnarok Red Button scaled

Run toward the teleporter for safety. Electric and fire zombies will spawn. You must defend yourself for about a minute while the console beside the teleporter works.

When all the lights are solid green, quickly run over and interact with the console. There is a strict timer to do so. When you’ve succeeded, the Ragnarok DG-4 piece will be inside of the teleporter.

Ragnarok Machine Rocket Test Site scaled

Any build table will do, but I would recommend building the Ragnarok DG-4 in the Research Lab beside the dragon. It is a central area that is easy to access.

Don’t forget, any time you use the Ragnarok DG-4 as a trap (L2), you need to pick it back up from where you placed it in the ground after it finishes.

11. Follow the Keeper

Get ready, because this step is going to feel very claustrophobic. It is the most likely failure point besides the boss fight. Make sure you are happy with your current perks, weapons, and gobblegums before committing. This is going to involve zombies, Hellhounds, and Panzersoldats in tight quarters. As usual, you must have your upgraded bow with you.

A Pack-a-Punched gun can also be very useful for this step (especially in co-op). If you haven’t already, make sure you’ve interacted with both potential Pack-a-Punch locations to bring it online. These locations are across from the Death Ray and in the Undercroft. The actual Pack-a-Punch machine can appear in either of these locations or the Rocket Test Site.

Once you’re prepared, return to the Knight’s Tomb where you received the Wrath of the Ancients bow. Insert the Vril Device we found earlier into the impression in the front to spawn the Keeper.

der eisendrache trophy guide: knight's tomb

The Keeper is a ghostly figure that will lead you to one of four locations across the map. At the selected spot, a circle will spawn. The more players that stand in the circle, the larger it will become.

When you stand in it, a color will appear around the edges of the screen. You must get kills with the upgraded bow that matches the color on the screen. In my experience, it seemed less like a certain number of kills required and more like needing to complete a round while in the circle.

If you are playing in a ranked game, you will only be asked to use the bows you have, one for each player in your match. So for example, a duo with the Storm Bow and Void Bow will never be requested to use the Fire Bow by the Keeper. If you instead played unranked, this could absolutely happen.

The locations that the Keeper goes to are near Double-Tap, near Mule Kick, the Upper Courtyard, and in the Knight’s Room near the Armory. The order is randomized. When you finish one location, the Keeper will move on to the next.

It is worth noting that it is very likely that a Panzersoldat will sneak up on you at some point during this step. Do not for one second think you must stand your ground during these moments.

You should absolutely run away, deal with the Panzersoldat somewhere safer, and only then return to get more kills for the Keeper. I can’t stress this enough; you will lose your entire run in two seconds flat if you misjudge an encounter here.

Once you’ve successfully charged the Keeper at all four locations, he will turn red. Now he will work his way back to the pyramid in the Undercroft. You don’t need to babysit him this time, he’ll go on his own.

der eisendrache trophy guide: red keeper

Whenever you are safe, go to the Undercroft yourself. You will witness a short event where the Keeper goes inside the pyramid. All the zombies on the map will be destroyed, but don’t be fooled; this is temporary and they will be back shortly.

der eisendrache trophy guide: keeper returning to pyramid

You need to insert the blue canister in the missing corner of the pyramid and wait for it to fully open. If you move too quickly to the next step, you will need to recharge your Ragnarok DG-4’s as the boss fight won’t spawn correctly.

12. Boss Fight

Before you proceed any further, you should make sure you are truly prepared. Do you have all your perks? Do you have your bow? Do you have something to handle Panzersoldats, Hellhounds, zombies, and the boss? Do you have a good gobblegum? If you have excess points, you should probably spend it on the mystery box and try to get something like cymbal monkeys. It is infinitely better to wait an extra round or two to get a better kit than it is to enter the boss fight earlier, especially when it comes to gobblegums.

As a reminder from the recommended loadout section, I would 100% recommend the Storm Bow (+ the Void Bow), KRM-262 shotgun, and the XM-53 rocket launcher above all else. For the boss fight, Idle Eyes in co-op or Near Death Experience for solo are the best of the best gobblegums to bring in.

Without further ado, let’s get started. For this step, we are going to trigger a boss fight with the Keeper. It has three stages and takes place in its own unique location. To begin, stand on one of the blue squares around the pyramid and slam your Ragnarok DG-4’s down at your feet with L2. The screen will flash as you are transported.

The battle arena is a circle with several pillars arranged in a tighter circle. To put it simply, you will need to survive for some time, use your Ragnarok DG-4’s at a key moment, damage the boss when his weak point is open, then rinse and repeat three times.

der eisendrache trophy guide: boss arena

It is imperative that you always move in a circle around the arena. Only defeat skeletons that are in your way, or when you need to recharge your Ragnarok DG-4.

In the first phase, the Keeper has two main attacks: a volcano and skull attack. The volcanoes spawn on the floor and are easy enough to dodge. The skulls chase you in the sky but deal negligible damage. If you keep moving and watch your surroundings, these are a non-issue.

More importantly, you need to keep an eye on the center of the arena. At some point, the Keeper will go there and start building up electricity. You must run up to that spot and slam your Ragnarok DG-4’s in the ground as a trap with L2. If you do not, he will do a shockwave attack that will instantly KO you unless you are hiding behind one of the pillars.

It’s an easy decision tree:

  • Ragnarok DG-4 charged? Run in and slam them down.
  • Ragnarok DG-4 not charged? Hide behind a pillar and protect yourself with your bow.
der eisendrache trophy guide: boss fight electricity

Once you’ve placed your Ragnarok DG-4, circle around until you are facing the Keeper’s front. He will reveal his weak point as a glowing golden spot in his chest.

Attack it with your damage dealer of choice, like the XM-53 rocket launcher. Use your bow for safety from the skeletons as needed.

When the Keeper recoils, you know you’ve dealt enough damage to enter the next phase. If he does not, you’ll need to recharge your Ragnarok DG-4’s with skeleton kills and attempt to trigger the first damage phase again when they’re ready.

der eisendrache trophy guide: boss fight weak point

It is absolutely imperative that you pick up your Ragnarok DG-4 after every damage phase. You must recharge it with kills in order to trigger the next one.

der eisendrache trophy guide: boss fight pick up ragnarok dg-4

The second phase has everything from the first one, with the addition of Panzersoldats. Several will spawn in at once, with the exact number depending on how many players are in your game.

This is the point where your gobblegum can make a huge difference. If you use Idle Eyes, you can defeat every Panzersoldat with ease. Bear in mind that the KRM-262 has significant falloff damage, so make sure to get in close and shoot the exposed chest plate when it’s safe.

der eisendrache trophy guide: boss fight panzersoldat

The Storm Bow can also help immobilize the Panzersoldats if needed.

Otherwise, circling around the pillars and turning around to deal damage when it’s safe is the best way to go. Slow and steady wins the race here if it comes down to that.

While the Panzersoldats are out, the Keeper is unavailable, so you don’t need to worry about his attacks (especially the electricity one). You also get max ammo power-ups in the center of the arena for defeating Panzersoldats, so don’t worry too much about running out of ammo.

Once the Panzersoldats are out of the way, the Keeper will return. You need to continue recharging your Ragnarok DG-4 while dealing with everything from the first phase again.

If you’re in co-op, the other player(s) can slam their Ragnarok DG-4’s down instead. However, if you are on your own, it is very likely that you will need to hide behind a pillar at least once. Use your bow for protection; anything else and you will almost certainly wipe.

When the electricity is building again, go slam your Ragnarok DG-4’s down to trigger another damage phase. Follow the same strategy as before. When the Keeper recoils, you know you’ve triggered the third phase.

This time, you will have to deal with Panzersoldats and Hellhounds together. Once again, gobblegums take off a lot of the stress here. The best way to deal with Hellhounds is the Void Bow. If you have a second player spamming charged shots, this phase will be so much easier.

Eventually, the Keeper will appear again. If your Ragnarok DG-4’s are not ready when he does his electricity attack, take cover in the pillar with the Storm Bow player. Their bow can provide much better safety from the hordes.

der eisendrache trophy guide: boss fight Hellhounds and Panzersoldats

When your Ragnarok DG-4 is recharged and the boss prepares his electricity attack, run in and slam them down. This is the final damage phase. Deal enough damage and he will recoil for the last time. If you don’t, you’ll need to recharge your Ragnarok DG-4’s again and get another shot at the third damage phase. He’ll go down soon enough.

Congratulations, you’ve just defeated the Keeper!

13. Deliver the Summoning Key

The hard part is over. Now you just need to do one last token step.

After defeating the Keeper, you will spawn back in the Undercroft. Pick up the Summoning Keythe round yellow devicefrom the pyramid. Run it up to the computer station outside of the Clock Tower and interact with it.

der eisendrache trophy guide: deliver summoning key

That’s the end of the Easter Egg! You will be rewarded with a short cutscene and “free” Perkaholic. Feel free to continue playing if you’d like. It is recommended that you use the trick to save your Mega Gobblegums at this point, as your trophy progress is maintained, any Liquid Divinium earned is saved, and the completion status of the Easter Egg within the game is kept.

In other words, Der Eisendrache will still be considered completed for the purposes of the Revelations Easter Egg even if you quit out now. This only matters for those seeking 100% completion for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3’s trophy set.

Cleanup and Remaining Trophies

Going through the Easter Egg technically only guarantees two of the ten DLC stack’s achievements. Given how much work goes into it, that might come as a shock. There are very likely going to be some trophies that you’ve missed.

“Take a Bow” and “My Brother’s Keeper” are guaranteed to be completed by way of the Easter Egg. The former is gotten simply by upgrading a bow and the latter is unlocked once the Summoning Key is taken to the computer station at the end of the Easter Egg. Below are the remaining eight achievements that are technically unaccounted for.

  1. Der Meisterbogenschuetze
    • Trophy Description: Obtain all of the ancient bows
    • If you played with less than four players or in a ranked game, it is very likely that you did not build all four of the upgraded bows during your Easter Egg run. For this trophy, you must obtain the Storm Bow, Void Bow, Wolf Bow, and Fire Bow in one game. It doesn’t matter who builds it in a multiplayer game so long as all four exist in the lobby at once.
    • If you need exact step-by-steps for these bows, we have you covered. Just scroll back up to the Upgrade Your Bow section above.
  2. Quick Off Your Feet
    • Trophy Description: Wall buy the BRM
    • Once you turn on anti-gravity in the Undercroft, you may notice several small blue squares along the walls. You must wall run along these and activate them. They have a fairly tight hit box so you will need to be accurate on your jumps. You’ll know you’ve done it correctly because it makes a shifting sound. This does not need to be done in one session of anti-gravity, so you can always come back to it later and the activated panels will remain.
    • Once all squares are pushed in, the BRM will become available for purchase. It is found high on the wall opposite of the stone dragon and requires anti-gravity to reach. It costs 1,800 points.

      BRM Build Steps scaled

      BRM Wall Running scaled
  3. That’s a lot of Jigawatts!
    • Trophy Description: Electrocute 121 zombies
    • If you used the Storm Bow, you very likely achieved this during your Easter Egg run. If not, either build the Storm Bow in a separate match, or leverage the Death Ray trap to electrocute many zombies. This must be done in one game session to count.
  4. None Left Standing
    • Trophy Description: Kill every type of zombie using a minigun
    • This might be a confusing achievement based on what enemies spawn on Der Eisendrache’s map. To be more specific, you must use the minigun power-up to defeat a regular zombie, an electric zombie, a fire zombie, and a Panzersoldat. Electric and fire zombies spawn during the Rocket Test Site section of the Ragnarok DG-4 steps, and they can also be created by a Panzersoldat’s attacks. His close range attack is a flamethrower, and his long range attack is a shock grenade.
    • The harder part of this trophy is ensuring you get a minigun power-up to spawn at all. If you play the map for long enough it is possible the stars will align. However, truthfully, the best way to do this is to bring in the Fatal Contraption Mega Gobblegum. It gives you two uses of the minigun power-up.
    • A free minigun power-up spawns when you successfully unlock the BRM for purchase in the Undercroft, which might be an alternative option to try.
  5. Fling Me to the Moon
    • Trophy Description: Use every Wundersphere twice
    • Wunderspheres are the circular transportation devices that give you shortcuts across the map. To use them, you need to activate their landing pads first. There are four of them that you must access for this trophy. The landing pads are at Spawn, in the Gate House above Double-Tap, outside of the Clock Tower, and at the Rocket Test Site. The Wunderspheres are located in the Gate House above Double-Tap, at the Death Ray, in the Upper Courtyard, and at the Rocket Test Site.
    • Each use of a Wundersphere costs 500 points and incurs a small cooldown. For this trophy, you will need to jump eight times in total, which will cost a cumulative 4,000 points.

  6. Death From Above
    • Trophy Description: Kill a zombie while being flung by a Wundersphere
    • This is easier said than done. When you activate a Wundersphere, it gives off a brief blast that knocks nearby zombies away, making it more difficult to defeat them yourself.
    • You can get this trophy by using grenades, a bow, guns, or my personal favorite, the trip mine. These can be purchased at the Rocket Test Site or grabbed from the mystery box. Simply run to a Wundersphere, turn back toward any trailing zombies, toss your trip mine, and immediately take the transport while your trip mine is in the air. Easy unlock.

  7. Not Big Enough
    • Trophy Description: Trap and kill a Panzersoldat using the Ragnarok DG-4
    • If you’ve done the Easter Egg, you know that the Ragnarok DG-4’s have a trap mode where you slam them down into the ground with L2. If you lure a Panzersoldat into it, they will become suspended in the air for a short time. You have until your Ragnarok DG-4 goes on cooldown to finish him off for this achievement.
    • It is important to note that Panzersoldats can have lots of health, which can be a problem if you don’t have an optimal loadout or are on a high wave. If you don’t think you can defeat the Panzersoldat fully in that brief amount of time, you should weaken him a bit first before using your Ragnarok DG-4. Just don’t overdo it and kill him too early.

  8. Time to Slam
    • Trophy Description: Revive two players protected by the Ragnarok DG-4
    • As before, this achievement requires using the trap mode (L2) of the Ragnarok DG-4. All you need to do is have a player go down, slam your Ragnarok DG-4’s down near them, and revive them. Do this twice.
    • This works in the same usage of the Ragnarok DG-4 if your friend manages to go down a second time quickly enough. This also works in two separate usages if you need the extra time. You only need one partner, not two, to do this. In fact, if you are confident with the map, you could easily do this in split-screen with a dummy second player.

Conclusion

Der Eisendrache is a very fun map once you get the hang of it. The Easter Egg is reasonable with enough map knowledge and the proper gobblegums. Unlike other Zombies maps in the series, you are not beholden to inane RNG requirements.
